Overview

The Race Dash is BGauge's flagship motorsport display — a racing digital dash that replaces scattered analog gauges with one configurable screen. Data refreshes at up to 50 Hz so RPM, boost, and warning states stay current under hard driving.

Resistive touch works with gloves. Seven shift-light LEDs, overboost and oil-pressure indicators, and a sun visor hood make it a complete motorsport gauge display for serious standalone ECU builds.

Compatible Standalone ECU Systems

This standalone ECU dashboard works with Megasquirt, MaxxECU, ECUMaster, and AEM out of the box. Enable your ECU's default CAN broadcast and map the channels you want on screen.

Additional platforms are in testing. If your ECU sends standard CAN data, contact us — many standalone systems work without custom firmware.

CAN Bus Integration

Wire CAN High and CAN Low to your ECU bus alongside existing nodes. The Race Dash acts as a CAN bus dashboard listener — no secondary converter or USB bridge at the track.

Power runs through a GX16 4-pin connector (7V–35V). Full pinout, termination notes, and ECU-specific setup tips are in the Race Dash manual.

Installation

Mount the display in your preferred location, route power and CAN to the GX16 connector, and configure channels in your ECU software. Shift-light thresholds and warning behaviour are set on the touch screen.

Typical install time is a few hours for wiring and ECU broadcast setup. We provide direct email support for pinout and configuration questions.

Race Dash FAQ

Is the Race Dash a universal race dashboard for standalone ECUs? +

Yes. BGauge Race Dash is designed as a universal motorsport dashboard that reads live data from your standalone ECU over CAN. It works with the default CAN broadcast of supported platforms — no proprietary protocol required.

Which standalone ECU systems are compatible? +

Megasquirt, MaxxECU, ECUMaster, and AEM are confirmed. Enable your ECU's standard CAN data output and the dashboard receives RPM, temperatures, pressures, and other channels you configure.

How does CAN bus integration work? +

Connect CAN High and CAN Low to your ECU's CAN bus, power the display, and enable broadcast in your ECU software. The Race Dash listens to the same data stream your logger or other CAN devices use.

Is this suitable for drift, drag, and track cars? +

Yes. The 7-inch layout, high refresh rate, and built-in 20 Hz GPS suit track and drift builds that need broad data coverage. For dedicated drag cars with minimal space, see the BGauge Drag Dash.

What installation is required? +

Mount the display, run power (7V–35V via GX16 connector), and connect two CAN wires to your ECU bus. Shift lights and warnings are configured on the touch screen — no laptop needed at the track.

How do I order or get pricing? +
